The forearm rotates outward while the elbow remains close to the body.

  1. Stand upright and attach the elastic band at elbow height. Bend your elbow to about 90 degrees and keep it close to your body. Hold your forearm diagonally inward across your abdomen.

  2. Rotate your forearm outward against the band's resistance without letting your elbow leave your body. Keep your wrist straight and your upper body still. Then return your forearm to the starting position with control.

  2. Move your whole head and chin straight backward until a slight double chin forms. Keep looking straight ahead while your shoulders and upper body remain still. Then move your head forward to the starting position.

The barbell is lifted from the floor to upright standing and then lowered back with control.

  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and the bar over the middle of your feet, close to your shins. Push your hips back, bend your knees and grasp the bar with an overhand grip just outside your legs. Keep your arms straight and your back neutral, brace your trunk and look slightly forward and down.

  2. Push your feet into the floor and extend your hips and knees together to lift the bar to just below your knees. Keep the bar close to your legs with your arms still straight.

  3. Continue until you stand upright with the bar close to your thighs, without leaning backward. Then push your hips back and bend your knees to lower the bar close to your legs until the plates rest on the floor again.

Deadlift – Stand with your feet hip-width apart and the bar over the middle of your feet, close to your shins.   2. Turn your upper body and move your right elbow toward the ceiling. Follow the elbow with your eyes and keep your left hand and knees still. Turn back until the elbow points down again.

  1. Sit on the pad facing the weight stack with both feet on the floor and your thighs under the supports. Hold the bar with a grip slightly wider than shoulder width. Extend your arms overhead and keep your trunk upright.

  2. Pull the bar down in front of your face to your upper chest. Drive your elbows downward and keep your trunk steady without swinging. Then return the bar upward with control until your arms are fully extended again.

  1. Lie on your right side with your right leg straight and support your head with your right arm. Bend your left knee, hold your ankle with your left hand and draw your heel towards your buttock. Keep your shoulders and hips stacked, release slowly and repeat on the other side.

Technique tips

  • Breathe calmly and keep the stretch still without bouncing.

  2. Lean your upper body forward until your shoulders are over your feet. Lift clearly away from the chair seat. Keep your feet down and arms crossed.

  3. Stand up tall in front of the chair with your arms crossed. Move your hips back and bend your knees as you sit again. Sit down slowly with your feet in the same place.

  2. Use your abdominal muscles and bring your knees through the centre while gently pressing your lower back down. Lower your knees together to the left while keeping both shoulders down. Return through the centre and continue alternating sides.

Supine knee rolls – Use your abdominal muscles and bring your knees through the centre while gently pressing your lower back down. Lower your knees together to the left while keeping both shoulders down. Return through the centre and continue alternating sides.
